[The wailing and sobbing has ceased--for now. But his face is mottled red, his eyes blistered, and his face wet. But wet all over, like he may have splashed it with water.
He freezes, and when he spots her, his eyes begin to well up against his will.]
[ She is treated! Her burns, etc, are wrapped. There's no sign of her bloody nose that I forgot to indicate last night. Everything is good. ]
I'm afraid I haven't had an extended conversation with him, but I was thinking I should.
[ Should she ditch Damian to go to Dick now? ]
We forced our way into a cabin we found in the fog. Inside, at first, it seemed normal enough with a table and chairs. There was a bathroom and a kitchen. There was a drawing that...
[ She frowns. ]
It will make anyone feel dizzy upon looking on it, but I will show you, if you wish.
[ She takes out the drawing and offers it to him. Mod says anyone who looks at it will have their vision blur the longer they look at it, getting faint and dizzy. ]
Please don't look at it too long. That was only one of the things we found. There was another room with much more, but I understood it only a little more than the drawing.
Damian doesn't seem worried or apprehensive about taking the drawing. He looks at it cautiously, but with no hesitation. He squints.]
"Bad" and "Good"...?
[He has one of the best fortitude among humans, honestly. His mother and father made sure of that. But even looking at this, he can't help the wash of heat that comes with dizziness. He turns his head away a moment.]
The things in the other room--they were alien to you? Did they look... advanced?
I don't know what it's classifying as either bad or good.
[ Her mind couldn't comprehend it on any level. ]
Yes, there were multiple screens showing the outsides of our cabins, and they were connected to a... machine. Kurusu-kun says he thinks it may be a tablet.
[ But she says tablet like she doesn't know what the heck it is still. ]
There is a lot of red which isn't reassuring. Some purple...
[Frowning, he looks at it, looks away, looks at it again, and then carefully hands it back to her.]
Cameras. [His lips thin, and he makes an exasperated face.] Next time, at least take one person with you who is from a more technologically advanced society.
Did the screens ever change? Did you touch the "tablet"? Also: how did it catch on fire?
[ Haha, yeah, that sure is a lot more bad than good. Shinobu only smiles as if to say, yes, she agrees. ]
I will go with someone with modern knowledge, if there is another time.
[ She doesn't like making the same mistake twice, and whatever feelings she may or may not have towards Giyuu and Dimitri, she prefers to work in a way that's most efficient. ]
We could see people moving about, but they didn't change the locations they showed. As for the tablet... [ There's a pause here because she doesn't know how to describe what happened accurately because she's. Ye olde. And it kills me personally. ] Some buttons were pushed, and multiple things happened on the tablet's screen. The noise got louder, and then all the screens went black.
[ They, uh, did some things that were wrong. Haha. ]
I tried to disconnect the tablet, so we could take it with us, and that's when something sparked.
[....GOD. Damian just continues to frown a lot. Reaching up, he rubs his forehead over one of his brows. Ye oldes... (I get to say, now not playing a ye olde.)]
Show the drawing to Grayson if you get the chance. We'll need to find what it matches to, or if we can reform it to see it clearly. What's important is the three of you weren't killed by doing something stupid.
[ She can read in between the tsun lines. She smiles. ]
From what I've heard, the three of us were fortunate in our investigation by only coming out with light wounds.
[ She's not displeased by it since she'd rather everyone be safe. ]
There were some other words and terms of note that may have more meaning to you than it does to me. C, C, T, V. Set A. Live. [ But she pronounces it like liver instead of like alive. ] C, M, P, N, T, G, N. There was another list of words that appeared on a screen, but it disappeared too soon to read.
His face actually breaks a bit, surprised.] It is cameras. Set A... [Wow, he does NOT like the sound of any of that at all. Not him especially. It puts a heavy, sick pit in his stomach.] There's more sets, like a studio. And this one is live.
We're being watched. [God dammit.] The letters could be anything. Did you speak to the other group? You both might have found pieces of a bigger puzzle.
[ She nods. Nothing about this sounds good, and even if she doesn't completely understand what Damian just said, she can piece together the important parts. ]
I hope that we can piece together something that will push us forward towards the answers we all seek. It does concern me to hear that we're being watched like that. [ It concerns he a lot. ] For what purpose and for whose?
I'm wondering if it's a red herring. If it's something they put in--the hosts. If the footage was for them to watch us here, and it wasn't being sent to an outside source. But even so...
Hal's employers watched us for entertainment, too.
Their cabins were in the screens as well. The three of them.
[ She doesn't say it as if to argue with him because it's a solid point. So much is hard to trust these days, but she feels it's best to give him as much information as she can. ]
I heard the voice of someone from the island in the cabin, someone who isn't here, so there must be some kind of trick at play.
[ She considers what he says for a second more. ]
I don't know if it's an overlap or a coincidence, but many have said that there is enough similar to what all of us have previously experienced that I wouldn't be surprised either way.
