[It's only because Ookurikara and Lili immediately took off to investigate that Yasusada's even still here. There's a restless energy to him, though--he, too, can't stay still, and he's pacing in front of the cabins, his grip occasionally tightening where it rests on the hilt of his sword. He notices her approach, but it's still a little startling when she speaks to him, and he blinks to snap himself out of his own thoughts.
He doesn't have a good answer, though, and he looks down at his feet.]
...I don't know. [He replies honestly, lifting a hand to press against his chest.] It hurts, here.
[IT SURE IS. Yasusada struggles with it a little more than the rest of them do, probably--but that's because his focus is, and always has been, on being a good sword. His humanity, or lack thereof, was never really a problem before.]
...Even if it was foolish, I wanted to trust them. [He hadn't seen any reason to be hostile to their hosts; what good would that do them? That said--] But I can't really say I'm surprised, either.
[...He didn't expect it to be one of his own, though. Even if they weren't particularly close.]
Tsurumaru-san is from my home. [He'd be upset either way, but the fact that it's a comrade, even if they weren't close... it's making things harder for him than they might've been otherwise.] I should be doing something. Trying to find him, somehow.
[Before this, Yasusada would've hesitated to call them friends. But now, he's had barely a week with other swords around, and he's already lost one of them. It feels disrespectful to say anything else.
He nods, though, at her question.]
I have. But I didn't want to get lost, if we were going to go home soon.
Sanji-kun. We were in the castle together. [HE... doesn't really want to say "he's my keeper because sometimes I threaten entire rooms" but] He took care of Okita-kun after I died.
[And since she knows how much Okita meant to him, at least to some degree, that's probably explanation enough.]
Yes. He might want to come along. [And he promised he'd let him know if he chose to do anything reckless, so.] I'll be right back, okay? He's probably in the kitchen.

It's all right not to know. It's all right if it hurts. Being angry is normal. Being sad is normal. Wanting to do something is normal.

[ Isn't that the same thing? There's a fine line with Shinobu, who wanted to put forth the effort to show she truly didn't want any murder around. ]
We all expected it, but that doesn't make what happened any less terrible.

I'm sorry, Yasusada-san. You have my deepest regrets.
[ But as for doing something.... ]
Have you wondered about what's hidden in the fog?
no subject
He nods, though, at her question.]
I have. But I didn't want to get lost, if we were going to go home soon.

[ Knowledge is power. ]
If you don't want to see, that's also fine.
[ Free will is a thing. She encourages choice. ]

If you're going, I'll accompany you. [...Oh, but--] I need to tell someone first. Is that alright?

[ Just so she can keep track. ]

[ She just wants to know who to expect if someone feels like they have to yell at her for walking into the unknown fog with an impressionable sword. ]

[That's where Sanji always is,]

I'll wait here.
no subject
No just kidding. He comes back relatively quickly, and alone--when he returns to her side, he nods firmly.]
Alright, let's go.

She nods in return. ]
Shall we go east?
no subject
Alright. Please stay close.
[The last thing they need is another lost soul.]

[ It's a fog, so who knows what the visibility is like, and in they go...! Into the fog! ]
